Main interests

The main aim of our group is to analyse morphological patterns of disease with particular reference to tumor microenvironment, using human cancers.

Research Areas

Cervical cancer: Our aim is to study biological agents as initiators of carcinogenesis and tumor promotion by extracellular matrix components as a means of identifying new prognostic molecular markers and therapeutic targets.
Tumor microenvironment: Role of extracellular matrix components and cell signaling molecules in tumor progression.
Metabolism: Role of a microenvironment rich in lactate in squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma progression.
Ovarian cancer: Cell alterations due to exposure to HDACs inhibitors.
