During the Science & Technology Week, CEDOC-NMS|FCM opened its doors to schools, with the activity “Da Pergunta ao Resultado”, that allowed students to learn more about the investigation taking place in our Institute while visiting our labs.
For two days, researchers from the Stem Cells and Development, Lysosomes in Chronic Human Pathologies and Infection, Molecular Mechanisms of Disease, Neuronal Trafficking in Aging, DysBrainD: Dysmetabolism in Brain Diseases and Membrane Traffic in Infection and Disease Labs showed to three different schools the highlights of our investigation.

Stem Cells and Development and Lysosomes in Chronic Human Pathologies and Infection Labs @ Science & Tecnhology Week
On the 19th November we had the pleasure of receiving students from the 12th and 11th grade of the schools Carlucci American International School of Lisbon and Escola Secundária Dr. Bernardino Machado.
These students visited our labs, talked to our scientists while they presented their work and lastly took the role of scientists themselves, in an exercise that allowed them to think of scientific questions, with the help of our researchers.

Membrane Traffic in Infection and Disease and Molecular Mechanisms of Disease Labs @ Science & Technology Week
On the 20th November the 3rd and 4th grade students of the Escola Básica Nº1 Lisboa painted pictures of our animal models and organs, made a sneak peak at our labs and learned more regarding neurodegenerative diseases, while playing games and using playdough.
The Science & Technology Week is an annual event promoted by Ciência Viva to mark the national day of scientific knowledge that takes place on the 24th November, counting with over 200 activities all over the country.
