COVID-19 Diagnosis tests for passengers travelling to Madeira

Nova Medical School and CEDOC- Chronic Diseases Research Centre has established a partnership with the Government of Madeira whereby all passengers traveling to this destination can do a COVID-19 test at CEDOC-NMS that is free of charge for the passenger.

Schedule for Sample Collection

Monday to Friday
From 8.00 AM to 12.00 PM, upon previous scheduling

After August 10:
Monday to Friday - From 8.00 AM to 2.00 PM
Saturday - From 8.00 AM to 11.00 AM
Upon previous scheduling

Passengers should only arrive at the sample collection site at the designated time to reduce waiting times and ensure safety rules.

 
Booking a test - online or by phone, maximum capacity 300 tests per day

Booking must be done by the passenger using the automatic booking platform available HERE.

Booking is done directly by the passenger, who can choose schedule of their choice, at the most convenient time to be tested, within 3 days prior to the flight. The confirmation is automatic and immediate but is subject to the available slots and the validity period of the test results.
At the day and time of the test passengers are requested to present a Citizen Card or Identity Card/Passport, National Health Service Card and proof of payment for the air ticket (eg. electronic ticket).

Booking should be preferentially performed online.

If online booking is not possible, booking can be requested by phone call, to the mobile phone (+351) 910 459 769 or to the landline (+351) 218 ​​803 120, from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 am and at 5:00 pm. In this case, the sample collection will be confirmed by sending a copy of the electronic ticket/travel receipt or boarding pass to covid@nms.unl.pt, with the following data:
- Name
- Date of birth
- Adress
- Destination Address
- Flight Code
- Date of flight
- Mobile/Phone
- e-mail
- Citizen Card / Passport Number:
- National Health system number or equivalent
- Copy of the electronic ticket/travel receipt or boarding pass

Bookings made by phone call will be confirmed to passengers by email, indicating the date and time of sample collection. At the day and time of the test passengers are requested to present a Citizen Card or Identity Card/Passport, National Health Service Card and proof of payment for the air ticket (eg. electronic ticket).

NOTE: From August 5th, scheduling requests via e-mail will not be considered. Only bookings through the website or by phone are accepted.

WARNING: Diagnosis tests will not be performed if the booking was done according to a flight date that does not correspond to the flight date indicated on the electronic ticket/travel receipt or boarding pass.
