The 1st edition of the NOVA Science Day took place on September 10th, with more than 350 participants. Organized by the NOVA Research Office, this meeting aimed not only to show and boost the science done at NOVA, but also to promote the academic units and research centres.
Director-General of European Commission for Research, Science and Innovation, Dr. Jean-Eric Paquet, and the Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education, Professor Manuel Heitor, were the keynote speakers. Dr. Jean-Eric Paquet highlighted the impactful research developed at NOVA University, and Heitor stresses the importance of Open Access and the importance of a mission oriented research to mobilize not only researchers but also fully engaged citizens.
